Easily the most spectacular project I've worked on, Redmoon Theater's The Astronaut's Birthday was a collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. I was the Lead Illustrator and Character Developer. This is a difficult one to describe—essentially a souped-up shadow play presented 5-stories high on the facade of the MCA. Hundreds of animation cells were created by myself and a team of 12 illustrators, which were then manipulated by actor/animators on overhead projectors to created an animated shadow play which the audience viewed from the MCA Plaza.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company ensemble member Bruce Norris is not a fan of being photographed or filmed. In 2016 this meant I had to get creative when it came time to promote his play Domesticated. The result was one of the most enjoyable projects I've had. I created a hundred-ish illustrations which I then passed off to Steppenwolf Digital Content Producer Joel Moorman who assembled the interview/trailer with sound and motion.
PICTURE BOOKS
Over the years I've made a handful of "picturebooks." They have been available in the Spruce Moose Shop, but you can enjoy them here digitally.
