SANDMAN/BASS HEAD
When I was 14 I made regular trips to the Waccamaw Pottery mall which had, amongst many randomly odd shops,  a Music Recyclery. The mall is now a parking lot for a Wal-Mart, but it was an important landmark for me because it was the first time I heard Morphine.
From that moment on Mark Sandman and the Morphine guys have had me in their beat-jazz, rock-noir, poem-cool clutches. If I could only listen to one thing for the rest of my life, give me 2-string slide bass, saxophone, and drums!
